AFT 250 Festivities
Each stop will unfold like a concert tour: the train unveiled for visitors, the grounds alive with festive performances and displays, and a memorable experience for thousands who hear the train’s whistle calling through their town. Celebrations will include events like the following:

Five steam locomotives valued at $6M+ are lined up to pull the AFT.
Ten passenger cars valued at $5M are confirmed ready for the AFT.
Two diesel locomotives are secured to assist the steam locomotive.

The Reading #250, the Bicentennial Freedom Train's sister locomotive, is undergoing a $2M restoration for the Quarter-Millennial celebration.
It will be ready in the summer of 2026 and will pull the 2026-2027 American Freedom Train!

Two railroad excursion managers, each with 25+ years of experience, will conduct site visits and finalize specific display locations.
Professional railroad executive with nearly 30 years of experience will manage the train for its 11-month journey.
